A round single or multi-stemmed tree, it achieves a dense canopy when young. The multi-trunk is a magnificent evergreen, very popular for landscaping. Makes a statement when placed in groups. One option: use near terraced areas with outdoor seating. The shiny, dark green leaves are a palmately compound in groups of three and the leaflets are about two to three in. long. Typically reaches about a 15 to 30 ft. size with an equal spread. Whitish green non-ornamental flowers on the female plants and small black seeds. The trunks are visually pleasing to the eye as the fissures in the dark gray bark reveal a striking orange hue underneath. Hardiness to around 15 to 20 degrees F. Full or reflected sun, part shade. Note: allergenic pollen. Drought tolerant once established, making it very desirable with little water required; water only once per week or once per two weeks, subject to location.
